TTP399 (TTP-399) is a hepatoselective, oral Glucokinase (GK) activator with EC50 of 304 nM and 762 nM for human GK at high glucose concentration (15 mM) and normoglycemia (5 mM), respectively.

TTP399 (TTP-399) is a hepatoselective, oral Glucokinase (GK) activator with EC50 of 304 nM and 762 nM for human GK at high glucose concentration (15 mM) and normoglycemia (5 mM), respectively; increases GK activity in the liver without affecting the physiological role of GK (active when plasma glucose concentrations are high and inactive at low/normal plasma glucose concentration); increases glucose metabolism in rat hepatocytes with EC50 2.39 and 2.64 uM in the presence of 15 mM glucose for lactate production and glycogen content, respectively; improves glycemic control in both animal models of type 2 diabetes and patients with type 2 diabetes.Diabetes Phase 2 Clinical.
