Pomolic acid has anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and apoptotic activities, it can induce apoptosis in SK-OV-3 cells, which is mediated by the mitochondrial-mediated intrinsic and death receptor-induced extrinsic pathways.
In Vitro

Randialic acid A (Pomolic acid) induces apoptosis ofGBM cells as demonstrated by DNA fragmentation. ?Pomolic acid-induced apoptosis is dependent on reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. It also induces uncoupling of mitochondria membrane potential and activation of caspase-3 and -9.
