N-Isovalerylglycine
CAS No. 16284-60-9
N-Isovalerylglycine( N-Isovaleroylglycine | Isovaleroylglycine )
Catalog No. M19997 CAS No. 16284-60-9
Isovalerylglycine (IVG) is an acyl glycine. Acyl glycines are normally minor metabolites of fatty acids. However the excretion of certain acyl glycines is increased in several inborn errors of metabolism. In certain cases the measurement of these metabolites in body fluids can be used to diagnose disorders associated with mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation.

DescriptionIsovalerylglycine (IVG) is an acyl glycine. Acyl glycines are produced through the action of glycine N-acyltransferase which is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction: acyl-CoA + glycine < -- > CoA + N-acylglycine. Isovalerylglycine is a byproduct of the catabolism of the amino acid leucine. Accumulation of isovalerylglycine occurs in Isovaleric Acidemia (IVA).

(Ser8)-GLP-1 (7-36) ...
(Ser8)-GLP-1 (7-36) amide, human is a glucagon-like peptide 1 amide derived from glucagonogen, a cleavage product of the GLP-1 (1-36) amide peptide. (Ser8)-GLP-1 (7-36) amide, human is an entero-insulinotropic hormone that causes glucose-dependent release of insulin from pancreatic β-cells and affects gastrointestinal motility and secretion.
