Product Nameα-Conotoxin EI
-
NoteResearch use only, not for human use.
-
Brief Descriptionα-Conotoxin EI is a selective nicotinic acetylcholine α1β1γδ receptor (nAChR) antagonist (IC50=187 nM) and an α3β4 receptor inhibitor. α-Conotoxin EI can block muscle and ganglionic receptors.
-
DescriptionSelective antagonist of neuromuscular nicotinic receptors α1β1γδ
-
In Vitroα-Conotoxin EI (10 μM) blocks muscle and ganglionic receptors, but less potent for the central nevous system receptor.α-Conotoxin EI (10 μM) blocks the α1β1γδ receptors with a τon of 4.9 s, and blocks the α3β4 receptor with a τon of 11 s.
-
In Vivoα-Conotoxin EI (intraperitoneal injection) into mice induces muscular weakness, followed by flaccid paralysis and ultimately death.

Nicotine Ditartrate
(?)-Nicotine is the dominant form of the natural alkaloid nicotine. It acts as an agonist of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) and possesses addictive and teratogenic properties. (?)-(S)-Nicotine is significantly more active at binding nAChRs compared to the (+)-(R) antipode thus nicotine is typically synthesized as (?)-(S)-nicotine with only 0.2-1% of the (+)-(R) isomer present.
