Catalog No. M40797 CAS No. 116229-36-8
Bactenecin (Bactenecin, bovine) is a potent 12-aa looped antimicrobial peptide isolated from bovine neutrophils. Bactenecin inhibits the growth of bacteria and yeast, and kills the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Bactenecin increass membrane permeability, inhibits the growth and biofilm formation of B. pseudomallei.

Brief DescriptionBactenecin (Bactenecin, bovine) is a potent 12-aa looped antimicrobial peptide isolated from bovine neutrophils. Bactenecin inhibits the growth of bacteria and yeast, and kills the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Bactenecin increass membrane permeability, inhibits the growth and biofilm formation of B. pseudomallei.
-
DescriptionBactenecin is a cyclic antimicrobial peptide isolated from bovine neutrophils with potent activity against Bacterial and Fungal species.
-
In VitroBactenecin is synthesized by solid-phase peptide synthesis and renatured to a fully disulfide bonded form. Bactenecin inhibits the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus at the same concentration reported for the peptide purified from bovine neutrophils. Bactenecin inhibits the growth of other medically important bacteria and yeast, and it kills the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Bactenecin, a dodecapeptide, is strongly cytotoxic to rat embryonic neurons, fetal rat astrocytes and human glioblastoma cells.Bactenecin exhibits stronger binding to LPS and induces perturbation of the inner membrane of live cells. Interaction of Bactenecin with model membranes results in changes in membrane fluidity and permeability, leading to leakage of dye across the membrane.

Calcimycin
Calcimycin is an ionophorous, polyether carboxylic antibiotic from Streptomyces chartreusensis.?It binds and transports calcium and other divalent cations across membranes and uncouples oxidative phosphorylation while inhibiting ATPase of rat liver mitochondria.?The substance is used mostly as a biochemical tool to study the role of divalent cations in various biological systems.?

Clorophene
Clorophene is an antimicrobial agent and can be used in personal care products.
-
Terminolic acid
Terminolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid glucoside isolated from Combretum racemosum,?can inhibit the pro-inflammatory cytokines by binding to receptor active site of IL-1β and IL-6, and enhance anti-inflammatory cytokines by binding to IL-4 receptor binding sites.
