-
Description6-Aminocaproic acid is an antifibrinolytic agent that acts by inhibiting plasminogen activators which have fibrinolytic properties.(In Vitro):6-Aminocaproic acid (20-180 μg/mL) inhibits fibrinolysis in plasma of Asian elephants, with an effective concentration of 61.5 μg/mL.6-Aminocaproic acid can be used as a hydrophobic linker to improve near-infrared fluorescence imaging and photothermal cancer therapy of PEGylated indocyanine green.(In Vivo):6-Aminocaproic acid (20-100 mg/kg; a single p.o.) inhibits fibrinolysis at all doses tested in dogs.6-Aminocaproic acid (20-100 mg/kg; a single p.o.) is rapidly absorbed (Tmax=1 h) and eliminated rapidly in dogs.

Pyrocatechol
Pyrocatechol its sulfonic acid is often present in the urine of many mammals. Small amounts of catechol occur naturally in fruits and vegetables along with the enzyme polyphenol oxidase. Upon mixing the enzyme with the substrate and exposure to oxygen (as when a potato or apple is cut) the colorless catechol oxidizes to reddish-brown benzoquinone derivatives.
