    A potent, selective Gardos channel blocker that blocks Ca(2+)-induced rubidium flux from human RBCs (IC50=11 nM) and inhibits RBC dehydration (IC50=10-50 nM); shows greater potency and selectivity than Clotrimazole; increases RBC K(+) content and hematocrit (Hct), decreases corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) in a transgenic mouse model of sickle cell disease (SAD); orally active.Other Indication Phase 3 Discontinued.
