DescriptionArbidol (Umifenovir) hydrochloride is an broad-spectrum antiviral chemical agent which can inhibit cell entry of enveloped viruses by blocking viral fusion with host cell membrane. (In Vitro):Umifenovir hydrochloride exhibits a wide range and potent antiviral activity against a number of viruses including influenza A, B and C viruses, respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, parainfluenza type 5 and rhinovirus type 14, avian coronavirus, infectious bronchitis virus and Marek disease virus, hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus.(In Vivo):Umifenovir (45-180 mg/kg; p.o.; daily for 5 days) suppresses the transcription of influenza viruses (IFV) -associated inflammatory cytokines.
