    6-Prenylnaringenin is an isomer of the potent phytoestrogen, 8-prenylnaringenin. 6-Prenylnaringenin is the most potent compound in the forebrain and acts as a positive allosteric modulator of GABAA at the α+β binding site.(In Vitro):In native GABAA receptors, 6-Prenylnaringenin potentiates GABA-induced displacement of [3H]EBOB binding in a concentration-dependent manner with IC50s of 3.7 μM. 6-Prenylnaringenin displays a modulatory activity at low micromolar concentrations.
