-
DescriptionDIMBOA, an antibiotic, is a benzoxazinoid, part of the chemical defense system of graminaceous plants such as maize, wheat, and rye. DIMBOA possess growth inhibitory properties against many strains of studied bacteria and fungi, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli as well as against Saccharomyces cerevisiae. DIMBOA exhibits a potent free-radical scavenging activity and a weaker iron (III) ions reducing activity. Antioxidant activity.

Reference
-
Sanguisorbigenin
Sanguisorbigenin is a natural antimicrobial agent that inhibits methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
-
Lysostaphin
Lysostaphin is a potent antistaphylococcal compound that exhibits enzymatic activity through three distinct enzymes: glycylglycine endopeptidase, endo-β-N-acetyl glucosamidase, and N-acetyl muramyl-L-alanine amidase.
-
Ceforanide
Ceforanide is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal activity. Ceforanide causes inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis by inactivating penicillin binding proteins (PBPs) thereby interfering with the final transpeptidation step required for cross-linking of peptidoglycan units which are a component of the cell wall.
