Leucine and derivatives are compounds containing leucine or a derivative thereof resulting from reaction of leucine at the amino group or the carboxy group or from the replacement of any hydrogen of glycine by a heteroatom. N-Acetylleucine is soluble (in water) and a weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). N-Acetylleucine has been detected in multiple biofluids such as feces and saliva.
