Brief DescriptionIberin is an isothiocyanate compound from horseradish that exhibits anticancer activity.
-
DescriptionIberin is an isothiocyanate compound from horseradish that exhibits anticancer activity, a quorum-sensing inhibitor (QSI) of the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and significantly induces Nrf2 nuclear translocation in NIH3T3 fibroblasts; induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in human neuroblastoma cells associated with inhibition of expression of Cdk2, Cdk4, and Cdk6 proteins.
-
In VitroIberin inhibits the growth of neuroblastoma cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. The iberin-induced cell cycle arrest in neuroblastoma cells is associated with inhibition of expression of cyclin-dependent kinase Cdk2, Cdk4, and Cdk6 proteins. There is an increase in apoptotic cell death in iberin treated cells as compared with control cells. The iberin-induced apoptosis is found to be associated with activation of caspase-9, caspase-3, and PARP. Iberin inhibits growth of human glioblastoma cells in cell proliferation assays, enhances cytotoxicity, and induces apoptosis by activation of caspase-3 and caspase-9.
-
In VivoIberin is tested in an in vivo foreign-body infection mouse model, and the results show no significantly difference in bacterial clearance between treated and nontreated miced. Iberin increases tissue levels of the phase II detoxification enzymes quinone reductase and glutathione S-transferase in a variety of rat tissues.

3,4-Dihydroxy-5-methoxybenzoic acid reduces cell proliferation in Caco-2 cells(IC50 = 24.1 μM) more effectively than anthocyanins and may offer protection against colon cancer after its formation in the gut. 3,4-Dihydroxy-5-methoxybenzoic acid inhibits transcription factors NF-κB, AP-1, STAT-1, and OCT-1 which are known to be activated in colorectal cancer.

LYG-202
LYG-202 is a novel flavonoid with piperazine substitution and antitumor effects in vivo and in vitro.LYG-202 induced apoptosis in MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, and MDA-MB-435 cells, and increased intracellular ROS production.

GSK854
GSK854 is a highly selective and potent inhibitor of troponin I interacting kinase (TNNI3K) that inhibits myocardial infarction-injured cellular pyroptosis and apoptosis in mice, which may limit oxidative stress, injury, and adverse remodeling in the ischemic heart.
