Description

Amelubant (BIIL284) is a potent, long-acting, orally active leukotriene B4 (LTB4) receptor antagonist, inhibits LTB4-induced mouse ear inflammation with ED50 of 0.008 mg/kg (p.o.); inhibits LTB(4)-induced transdermal chemotaxis in guinea pigs with ED50 of 0.03 mg/kg p.o.Rheumatoid Arthritis Phase 2 Discontinued.
In Vitro

Amelubant is a prodrug of active metabolites BIIL 260 and BIIL 315, which are reversible and competitive LTB4 receptor antagonists, with Kis of 1.4, 1.1 nM and 1.7, 1.9 nM in vital cells and membranes, respectively.
