RU-505 is an effective inhibitor of the Aβ42-fibrinogen interaction with IC50 of 2.72 uM in FP assays; restores Aβ-induced altered fibrin clot formation and degradation in vitro and inhibits vessel occlusion in AD transgenic mice, significantly reduces vascular amyloid deposition and microgliosis in the cortex and improves cognitive impairment in mouse models of AD.
